Routine Maintenance

At FWSR Group, we take care of the scheduling, testing and reporting so you can be confident your building is safe and compliant - on time, every time.

Fire protection systems must be maintained in line with AS 1851 - Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment, which defines the inspection frequency and testing requirements for each Essential Safety Measure (ESM).

FWSR Group manages the entire process, scheduling, testing and reporting, so you can be confident your building remains compliant all year round.

Our technicians service everything from emergency lighting and alarms to sprinklers, hydrants, extinguishers and passive fire systems, with inspections completed at monthly, six-monthly, annual and five-year intervals.

All results are recorded in our Uptick customer portal, providing you with digital records, compliance certificates and clear visibility over service schedules.

Annual
Annual Hydrant Flow Testing Ensuring your fire hydrant system performs when it matters most A reliable water supply is critical in an emergency. Fire hydrant systems make sure firefighters can access water quickly and safely - but like all fire protection systems, they must be tested regularly to ensure they work when needed.

5-Yearly
Keeping your fire systems ready for the real test Fire hydrant systems are critical to protecting lives and property during an emergency. Over time, internal components such as valves, gaskets and pipework can corrode, seize or deteriorate, reducing system performance when it’s needed most.

Our Commitment

With FWSR Group, your fire protection systems aren’t just serviced - they’re actively managed to keep your buildings and equipment compliant and help protect your most important asset, your people.

Clear and transparent records

We deliver routine fire protection maintenance in line with Essential Safety Measures requirements, with inspection outcomes clearly recorded and easy to access for reporting, insurers and peace of mind.

A practical partnership

We work alongside you to manage your fire protection responsibilities, providing clear guidance and support while minimising disruption to your operations.

Planned and reliable servicing

Through structured maintenance programs and forward planning, we ensure your fire protection systems are maintained on time and to standard, reducing risk and removing uncertainty.

After your routine service

Once your service is complete, our qualified fire technicians prepare a comprehensive compliance report in accordance with AS 1851. This report confirms your system’s compliance status, outlines any defects or non-conformances identified, and details the next steps if action is required.

In most cases, no immediate work is needed - you’ll simply be scheduled for your next routine service. If issues are found, we provide clear advice, recommended timeframes, and work closely with you to ensure compliance is restored quickly and efficiently.

Defect categories

Critical defects
Issues that render a system inoperative and must be rectified urgently.
Example: a failed check valve at a booster assembly, preventing correct operating pressure for firefighting.
Non-critical defects
Faults that don’t immediately stop the system from operating but still require attention.
Example: a local alarm bell not sounding or a water motor alarm failure.
Non-conformance
Missing or incorrect features that don’t affect operation but are required for ongoing compliance.
Example: missing hydrant block plans, incorrect signage, or an obstructed booster assembly.
Informational remark
Example: Fire hose reel not to be used for cleaning.
