Installation, Commissioning
& Certifying

Installing a fire protection system is about more than fitting equipment.

To be compliant, it must be designed, installed, tested and certified by licensed professionals.

At FWSR Group, we oversee the entire process - from initial design and installation to final commissioning and certification in line with the Building Act 1993, Victorian Plumbing Regulations 2018 and WorkSafe Victoria requirements.

Our expertise spans both water-based suppression systems and fire detection and warning systems. Whether you require a commercial sprinkler and hydrant installation or a fully integrated fire detection and occupant warning system, our teams deliver compliant solutions across both wet fire systems and dry fire & electrical systems.

During commissioning, we establish baseline data such as water supply capacity, pressure readings, and system interface configuration.
This data forms the performance benchmark for all future maintenance and reporting, helping to identify any changes in system condition and ensuring your annual compliance statements are accurate and complete.

Our expertise covers all major fire protection systems including sprinklers and pumps, hydrants, alarms, EWIS/OWS/FIP, portable equipment, and emergency lighting. Whether it’s a high-rise apartment, a food-production facility or an underground mine, we ensure every system is both fit-for-purpose and fully compliant.

Establishing Baseline Data

Building confidence through accurate system benchmarks.

When a new fire protection system is commissioned - or when new maintenance arrangements begin - establishing baseline data is an essential step.

This data provides the performance benchmark for your system, ensuring that future inspections and reports can be measured accurately and consistently.
Baseline data typically includes key system details such as water supply capacity, pump flow and pressure readings, pump pressure settings, block plan information, system interface cause-and-effect, and control and indicating equipment configurations.

If this information is not available, the system must be reported as a non-conformance under compliance standards. Collecting it upfront is vital for setting accurate service schedules under AS 1851, identifying potential system failures or defects, and preparing annual compliance statements for insurance and occupancy requirements.

What we commission and certify

At FWSR Group, our licensed technicians can install, commission, test and certify all types of fire protection systems and equipment, including:

Designed for your building and risk profile

Fire protection systems aren’t ‘set and forget.’

Each system is designed to suit the specific needs of your building and operations. Factors that influence system design include building size and layout, occupancy type, materials stored onsite, water access and local authority requirements.

In some cases, engineered fire safety solutions may be required to meet performance or structural conditions.
From high-rise apartments and healthcare facilities to food manufacturing plants, industrial sites and mine operations, FWSR Group ensures every system is compliant, functional and fit-for-purpose when you need it most.
