Wet Fire Systems

Wet fire protection designed to perform when it matters most.

At FWSR Group, our licensed sprinkler fitters, plumbers and fire technicians specialise in wet fire protection systems.

Working closely with our dry fire and electrical team, we deliver fully integrated fire protection solutions - from new installations and system upgrades to ongoing maintenance as part of your Essential Safety Measures (ESM) requirements.

Wet fire systems form the backbone of active fire suppression in commercial and industrial buildings. Designed to control or suppress fire through water-based systems, they protect life, minimise property damage and support emergency services response.

What is a wet fire system?

Wet fire systems use water to control, contain or suppress fire. These systems are engineered to suit your building classification, occupancy type and risk profile.

Wet fire systems typically include sprinkler systems (commercial, industrial and multi-residential), hydrant and hose reel networks, dedicated fire pumps and water storage tanks, along with booster assemblies and monitored valves. In higher-risk environments, specialised systems such as drencher or water spray protection may also be required.

These systems are designed in accordance with Australian Standards and are critical for ensuring sufficient water supply, pressure and performance during an emergency event.

Installation & commissioning

Our wet fire team installs and commissions systems in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, including AS 2118 (Sprinkler Systems), AS 2419 (Hydrant Systems) and AS 1851 (Routine Service).

From high-rise developments and large warehouses to healthcare facilities and industrial sites, we deliver compliant systems that are fit-for-purpose and built to perform.

Commissioning includes hydrostatic pressure and flow testing, pump performance verification, establishment of baseline data for future maintenance, and integration with fire detection and monitoring systems.

Because our wet and dry fire teams operate under one roof, we understand how suppression systems interface with fire panels, monitored valves and occupant warning systems, ensuring complete system functionality and compliance.

Routine maintenance & testing

Wet fire systems require scheduled inspection, testing and servicing to remain compliant and operational.

Our service teams carry out:
  • Routine inspections under AS 1851
  • Annual hydrant flow testing
  • 5-yearly valve servicing and hydrostatic testing
  • Pump performance testing
  • Tank inspections and maintenance
  • Defect identification and rectification
Regular servicing ensures systems maintain adequate water pressure and flow, valves operate freely, and pumps perform to design capacity.

Clear digital reporting is provided following each service to support compliance, auditing and insurance requirements.
