Course Overview

Our combined Confined Space and Breathing Apparatus course covers the skills and knowledge required for working under a permit, safe entry into confined spaces while using breathing apparatus and atmospheric monitoring equipment to maintain air quality and a safe working environment.

Participants are guided through recognition of typical hazardous conditions relating to confined spaces including; oxygen depletion, combustible atmospheres and atmospheric contaminants. Armed with the knowledge to identify potential hazards, participants learn how to assess a task, control the hazards and develop and implement safe work practices.

Each participant is provided with the opportunity to become comfortable wearing breathing apparatus in controlled conditions, before learning to work in darkness, noisy and smoke filled confined space environments. Practical training includes search and rescue exercises to allow participants to apply and develop relevant skills.
